Homeowner Incentive Program

How it Works

GET TO KNOW:

THE HIP PROCESS

If you qualify for HIP, you could get reimbursed for projects that improve your property and protect the lake! Properties with homes in the Lake Whatcom watershed that were not built to current code standards to protect water quality may participate in HIP. Getting started is easy. First, enter your address to see if you qualify. If you do, you’ll be directed to a page that describes the types of HIP projects possible on your property. Follow the directions on that page to get started planning your HIP project today.

The Benefits of

Participating
in HIP

HIP water quality improvements do more than just protect Lake Whatcom. They can add value and curb-appeal, create unique outdoor spaces, and give you a sense of stewardship, all without having to give up the way you use and enjoy your property. Help is always just a phone call or email away, and this one-on-one assistance is available throughout the whole process, making participation easy. HIP projects are specifically designed to fit within the unique constraints of your lot while maintaining the outdoor living and playing spaces you value.
